Since the Ignite-UX server now knows about your
new golden image, you can use Ignite-UX to install the golden image
onto a client. To do this, you need to get the client to inform the
Ignite-UX server that it is ready to install a new operating system.
There are two methods for doing this.
Method 1:
If the system is currently
running HP-UX 11i v1 or later versions — From the
Ignite-UX server, use bootsys to reboot the client
for which you want to install the new operating system. The client
can be booted in a mode in which it can be controlled by the Ignite-UX
user interface.
/opt/ignite/bin/bootsys -w -v client_name
This causes the client to boot a copy of the Ignite-UX kernel and file system that bootsys copies to the client. An icon representing the
system appears in the Ignite-UX GUI on the Ignite-UX server when the
client has completed the boot process, which can take several minutes.

| NOTE: If the client had HP-UX 11i v2 (B.11.23) previously
installed and you attempt to use the -R release option of bootsys to install HP-UX 11i
v1 (B.11.11), you must use the -f option to override
the previous installation. If you do not use the -f option, the installation will not continue and an error similar
to the following appears:ERROR: The target release "B.11.23" does not match the release
"B.11.11" referenced by "previous config name" in
"per client config file". Use the -f option to bootsys
to cause removal of "per client config file" if you wish
to install "B.11.23".

If the Ignite-UX server cannot resolve the client
name, specify to bootsys the client_name and IP_address:
/opt/ignite/bin/bootsys -w -v client_name:IP_address
Method 2:
If the system does not have
an operating system — Manually reboot the system.
Interrupt the boot process and select the Ignite-UX server as the
LAN boot source. This command is slightly different depending on your
client.
For example, to install to a C8000 workstation,
from the boot admin prompt, enter:
boot lan.10.2.72.150 install
You could use this command by replacing the IP
address with the correct value for your Ignite-UX server. When prompted
with a message about interacting with the initial system
loader (ISL), enter n. for "No".
