To get started using Software Assistant right away, follow these steps:

  1. Run the Initial Report with the command swa report.

  2. Review Recommended Actions, especially the manual actions, written to standard output.

  3. Download Patches and Make a Depot with the command swa get.

  4. Read the readBeforeInstall.txt file and take appropriate actions.

  5. Install the Depot.

  6. Generate a Second Report.

  7. Put Appropriate Actions in the Ignore File.
