Finding Cisco User Documentation Online
The release notes, regulatory compliance and safety information, user guides, and technical manuals for Cisco products are available online at www.cisco.com. The steps below explain how to access documentation.
How to Find Customer Documents Online
Cisco documentation is generally organized online as follows:
•Release notes—Product > release notes > version number
•User guides—Product > version number > document title
In general, to locate release notes or user guides whose part number is unknown:
1. In your browser's URL field, type www.cisco.com to access the Cisco home page.
2. In the upper right Search field, enter the product name and release number (for example, 12404 12.0(30)S).
3. From the drop-down menu under the Search field, choose Tech Support and Docs.
4. To begin your search, click the Go button.
5. Choose the appropriate document (release note or technical manual) from the search results.
Finding Cisco Regulatory Compliance and Safety Information Documents Online
To find Cisco Regulatory Compliance and Safety Information (RCSI) documents online:
1. In your browser's URL field, type www.cisco.com to access the Cisco home page.
2. In the upper right Search field, enter the phrase "Regulatory Compliance and Safety Information for" followed by the product name (for example, Regulatory Compliance and Safety Information for 12404).
3. From the drop-down menu under the Search field, choose Tech Support and Docs.
4. To begin your search, click the Go button.
A link to the appropriate RCSI document appears as the first item in the search results.
Downloading or Printing Documentation
The following procedure works for downloading, saving, or printing PDF file formats:
1. To open a Cisco document, either the full book or an individual document such as a chapter within a book, an RCSI, a feature module, or a release note, click on the PDF link in the upper right. The document opens.
2. To save the document to your hard disk, choose File > Save As.
To print the document, choose File > Print.
